Here's Why I'm a Skeptic on "Scientific Consensus"

Recently the EU banned bottled water manufacturers from claiming on their bottles that water can help prevent dehydration, claiming that this was not provable.  Violations carry up to two year imprisonment.
"...last February, the European Food Standards Authority (EFSA) refused to approve the statement.
A meeting of 21 scientists in Parma, Italy, concluded that reduced water content in the body was a symptom of dehydration and not something that drinking water could subsequently control.
Now the EFSA verdict has been turned into an EU directive which was issued on Wednesday."
Just transfer this "scientific finding" to global warming or any of a dozen other liberal causes that restrict free trade and business or western lifestyle.  Junk science.

Elena Kagan Should Recuse Herself from Obamacare Case

In a March 21, 2010 email exchange with Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, who also served in the Justice Department at the time, Kagan expressed enthusiasm — so much so that it apparently required two exclamation points — at the news of the law’s impending passage through Congress.

“I hear they have the votes, Larry!! Simply amazing,” Kagan wrote to Tribe in one of the emails.

At issue is whether Kagan, if she did work on the Obama administration’s legal defense strategy for the law, should recuse herself from the upcoming Supreme Court case to determine its constitutionality.
According to 28 USC 455, Supreme Court justices must recuse themselves from “any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”

The law also says justices must recuse themselves if they have “expressed an opinion concerning the merits of the particular case in controversy” while serving in government employment.

Sharon Bialek Accused of Sexual Harrasment in the mid '90's

Guitarwarp has had several men come forward in the last 24 hours with accusations of sexual harassment against Sharon Bialek.

The men, who remain anonymous, insist that she was in a position to offer them a job cleaning her pool at her residence.  When they arrived she tried to rape them.   Since there are three men making this accusation, clearly is it true.

When asked why the they waited so long to come forward, one of the men explained, "we didn't have a cash incentive until now."

"It seemed like an over and done with thing, and just move on," said one of the three.  But when they saw that Sharon was now seeking big money herself, they realized they too could cash in, so now they are coming forward.

One of the men, we will call "Edward," says that they have as much evidence against Sharon Bialek as she has against Herman Cain.  And because there are three of them, actually they have three times the evidence.

Guitarwarp is withholding the identities of these anonymous accusers of Sharon Bialek, but the reader can rest assured that they are all genuine because I report it as such.  Yes, I may not have a fancy global news network behind me, but what does that matter?  I am using the same methods to verify claims before rushing them out in public.

But, in case this is not accurate, I will retract it in an obscure posting to an obscure web site that prevents Google's spider from crawling it.

The Occupy Movement Turns Violent and Burns Oakland

The Occupy Movement, complete with their V for Vendetta masks (which look really stupid) turned violent in Oakland, smashing neighborhood stores, setting fires, and trying to block the port.

Is this a surprise to anyone? For years the left has been telling these sad sacks that they cannot be self-reliant.  No, all their problems are because someone else, some nameless bogey man has stolen their wealth.

So, the Yale classical literature major who borrowed $160,000 in student loans thinks the "rich" are secretly keeping them from getting a job doing something with that commercially worthless degree?

Folks, if you want to pay that much was a purely academic degree, more power to you, but don't expect to make money back on it!  That's not the point.

Ditto all you sociology majors.  There are legions of you.  But face it, that's not exactly a "money" field now is it?  You should have known that going in and don't expect it to lead to a high income when you graduate.

Ditto you Union devotees.  I love it when a union member tells a TV reporter, "I'm a master electrician but I been out of work six months and I'm waiting on my Union to get me a job."  Stop delegating responsibility for life to someone else.

You are owed nothing in America except the freedom to become self reliant and make something of yourself, support yourself, and better yourself.

So you are miserable because of you. Don't blame your misery on others.

Herman Cain Would Be Better Qualified Than Clinton If All Allegations True

The irony the left leaning main stream press fails to see is that even if all allegations (by anonymous women to date) were true then he would still be as pure as the driven snow compared to former President Bill Clinton.
