If Mr. Obama has his way you soon will be paying more for everything from guitars to gasoline in the form of a "hidden" national value added tax on everything you buy.
They will start by saying, "Oh, it's only 2%" and "we really, really, really need this. We don't pay our fare share. Europe has a VAT. And besides, it's for the children."
When Income Tax came in under the Progressives they said the same thing: it's only 2%!
My dad was right when he told me, "Never, under any circumstances ever give a politician any more money." Our tax rates are already too high. If the economy grows they will get a raise. Otherwise, government at all levels can do what we've all done. Tighten their belts.
