mycomputerfun.com Unauthorized Credit Card Charges!

I got a mystery charge on my Master Card in February 2010 from mycomputerfun.com and I've never, ever heard of, emailed, phoned, or otherwise transacted with this company or anyone in it.

They simply got my Card number and dinged it for just under $5. Total identity theft! I filed a fraud complaint with my card company and with IC3 (the Feds).

Stay away from any dealings with mycomputerfun.com If you Google them you see many complaints over the past six months that are similar.

    Have you had any resolution?

  2. Had to contact my Card company. They said they would "charge back" to that company the amount, but also had to get a new card. You should report them to the IC3 as well. That's the only way to get them shut down.

  3. Well...I contacted my bank first thing this morning and cancelled the card. They are sending me paperwork to fill out. I also took your suggestion and reported them to the IC3. On top of that I filled out a report at my local police department.
I can't believe these people can get away with this crap. I'm sure that they think such small amounts will go unnoticed. It is just wrong. Now I'm wondering how I'm going to live without my debit card. My bank said up to 45 days!

  4. 45 days? Hopefully they're just covering themselves and it will arrive in a few days.

  5. I have sent an email to a local news station that is pretty successful in dealing with consumer fraud to see if I can get their help putting these guys out of business. Hopefully there will be some resolution to this and they get caught. Good luck to you both!

  7. I finally got my account credited and a new card. I wonder how many people don't even notice this small amount being charged to them?

  9. I got dinged for $199. Some folks think this was for a nonexistent screen saver, but no one filled out a form to get this so-called s-saver.

My credit card company says they are not into resolution; they only cancel your card and issue a new one. They told me I would need to call their (mycomputerfun) 800 (or 888)number and attempt to get resolution. Another person said they went online, but I can't find their URL. For $1.99 I wil finesse it, but on principle I feel bad about not pursuing them.

  10. "My credit card company says they are not into resolution..." Time to drop them. While I had to get a new card my card company made a full refund. That's the industry standard for fraud.
